Wynn Handman (1922-2020)
We remember Wynn Handman, a master acting coach snd very dear man.
In 2014, we visited him in his studio, where he then continued his teaching career as one of the theater’s most sought-after mentors. Handman shared advice about bringing texts to life on stage. He also discussed Off-Broadway’s venerated American Place Theatre, which he founded in 1963, and which along with his class helped to launch the careers of Dustin Hoffman, Richard Gere, Anna Deveare Smith, Eric Bogosian, John Leguizamo, Kathleen Chalfant and Aasif Mandvi to name but a few.
Original tape date: January 23, 2014.
First aired: July 4, 2015.
The best director and acting teacher ever. Rest in Peace Wynn.
