The late composer/writer Mary Rodgers (1931-2014) discusses the 1996 revival of her classic show “Once Upon a Mattress,” starring Sarah Jessica Parker (then 22) on Broadway. She also candidly reminisces about her father, legendary composer Richard Rodgers, as well as his collaborators Larry Hart, Oscar Hammerstein II, Stephen Sondheim & Arthur Laurents.

Next up, is a “Broadway Update’ with Riedel & Haskins sparring over the the gravity of Julie Andrews, then in “Victor Victoria” (and age 61), missing 20% of her performances in the otherwise profitable musical.

(Tape Date: December 18, 1996)
