John Simon (1925-2019)
Today, we mourn the incomparable critic, John Simon. He was brilliant about so many things (and outrageously wrong about others- though over the years he mellowed). A consummate writer, he remarkably kept working until the end.
Here he is on one of his many many appearances on Theater Talk with his fellow writer/friends, the late Howard Kissel and Jacques le Sourd and the (still-kicking) Michael Riedel. We all had wonderful times together and I miss them.
Rest in peace, John, and thank you, Patricia Hoag Simon, for taking such good care of him.
